Italian Philology

The Italian Philology program at Vilnius University is designed for beginners with no prior Italian language proficiency. It aims to equip students with strong written and spoken communication skills in Italian (to C1 level), alongside a foundational understanding of Italian linguistics, literature, and culture. The curriculum incorporates a variety of courses to enhance language abilities, advanced writing, speaking, and research skills. Students will also develop crucial soft skills such as analytical and critical thinking, problem-solving, and rhetorical abilities, complemented by knowledge of Italian culture and history to understand the modern world. Graduates of this program are prepared for diverse career paths in sectors like business, services, education, culture, foreign relations, media, tourism, and public relations. They can also pursue roles in translation agencies, publishing houses, and editorial offices, either as freelancers or as content creators, translators, publishers, and communication specialists.
