This bridging program is designed for students who have completed a green-sector HBO (higher vocational education) or WO (university education) degree and wish to pursue a career in teaching or knowledge management within the green sector. In this program, you will develop the pedagogical and didactic skills necessary to teach 'green' subjects at VMBO (pre-vocational secondary education) and MBO (secondary vocational education) levels, as well as specialize in knowledge development and innovation within the broader green domain. The program can be completed in one year, or even half a year if you have already successfully completed an educational minor. Through practical, hands-on learning, you will learn to translate your professional knowledge into engaging and relevant educational content. You will also develop skills in creating motivating learning environments for young people and shaping your role as a knowledge professional. This program will prepare you to be a professional who not only contributes to the classroom but also to the advancement of the green sector as a whole.
The program is structured across two semesters, progressively building your teaching and coaching skills while integrating practical experience.
Upon successful completion of this program, you will receive a second-degree teaching qualification, opening doors to diverse career paths within the green sector.
If your prior education is not listed, or if you have specific questions, please contact the Admission & Advice Office at toelating.hogeschool.wageningen@aeres.nl for personalized advice. If you have already completed an 'Educatieve minor' within a related green HBO program at Aeres, you may be exempt from the first part of this bridging program, reducing its duration to half a year. If you completed an 'Educatieve minor' at Wageningen University & Research (WUR), some program components may be waived, leading to a lighter study load over the one-year duration.
The tuition fee applies to both Dutch and EU/EEA students. For non-EU/EEA students, institutional fees may apply. Always check the latest fee information on the official university website. Specific regulations may apply for students who have previously obtained a Dutch degree.
With the obtained certificate, you are authorized to teach in the 'Green' profile (broad green) in VMBO and practical education. You may also teach in your own green field in MBO and HBO. Your competence for teaching related subjects (e.g., Biology) will be assessed and determined by your employer.
You must hold a relevant HBO or WO diploma in a green-related field. Please check the university website for a detailed table of eligible prior qualifications or contact the Admission & Advice Office for personalized advice.
