This is a unique, fully integrated degree program combining Law and Irish language studies. You will gain a deep understanding of the Law of Northern Ireland and Ireland while simultaneously developing your modern language skills and cultural knowledge. The curriculum includes immersive summer school experiences in the Gaeltacht (Irish-speaking regions) to enhance linguistic proficiency. Teaching on most modules, including core subjects, is conducted in Irish, supported by a bespoke online learning platform. You will engage in 3-4 hours of interactive language classes per week based on the national syllabus. Curriculum
The degree allows you to study modules necessary for the academic stage of legal qualification. In your final year, you have the flexibility to specialize in areas of interest through elective modules or gain a broader understanding of law. Many modules explore legal and law-like interactions at local, national, and international levels. As part of the Law with Irish program, you are required to complete a total of 6 weeks of immersion in the Gaeltacht region of Ireland: 3 weeks during the summer between Year 1 and Year 2, and another 3 weeks between Year 2 and Year 3.
