The Lithuanian Studies programme offers a comprehensive approach to learning the Lithuanian language, aiming to bring students to a B2 level of proficiency. Exemptions from English language tests are available for native English speakers or those with a university degree conducted in English. Applicants from Bangladesh, Nepal, and Pakistan must submit an OMPT-C certificate with a minimum passing grade of 55%. Entry qualification documents must be in English or Lithuanian; official translations are required otherwise.

How to apply
1. Find Your ProgrammeChoose the Lithuanian Studies programme that aligns with your interests and career goals. You can apply for up to three programmes in one application.
2. Check Application DatesFor international applicants, deadlines are typically 1 May for non-EU/EFTA countries and 1 July for EU/EFTA citizens. The academic year starts on 1 September.
3. Check Eligibility and Prepare DocumentsEnsure you meet the general, programme-specific, and language proficiency requirements. Prepare verified copies of your entry qualification documents and any required translations. For non-EU/EFTA applicants, your most recent qualification should not be more than 5 years old.
4. Pay Application Fee and Submit ApplicationSubmit your online application via apply.vu.lt. The application fee is 100 EUR, payable through the Flywire platform. All required documents must be submitted before the application deadline.
5. Attend Motivational InterviewCandidates who meet the criteria will be invited for a motivational interview to discuss their interest in the programme.
6. Confirm Acceptance and Pay Tuition FeeYou will receive an acceptance or rejection notification within 30 days. If accepted, confirm your offer within 7 working days. Non-EU/EFTA students admitted to non-state-funded places must pay the annual tuition fee within 15 calendar days of the offer.
7. Arrange ArrivalAfter paying the tuition fee, you will receive a final acceptance letter. International Relations Office will provide information on obtaining a residence permit. Arrange your visa, temporary residence permit, and accommodation if needed.
