This Master of Science program in Quantum Information Science and Technology (QIST) is designed to prepare students for careers in the rapidly expanding field of quantum information. The curriculum includes specialized courses in QIST, alongside relevant courses from Physics and other departments across the university. A significant research component is integral to the degree, which can be fulfilled through on-campus research, work at Brookhaven National Laboratory, or an internship with an industrial partner. The program welcomes applicants with undergraduate degrees in science or engineering, not exclusively in Physics.
The M.Sc. in Quantum Information Science & Technology requires a minimum of 30 graduate credits. This includes a set of core courses, a selection of specialized courses based on the student's focus (Theory/Programming or Hardware/Materials), and a research project.
