This Master's program, Management im Gesundheitswesen (M.A.), is designed to equip you with the leadership and management skills needed for the healthcare sector. It blends management knowledge with methodical and social competencies, preparing you for responsible roles. The program is structured around four key areas: Empirical Methods, Public Health, Management, and Business Administration. You will develop expertise in areas like health reporting, health system research, organizational behavior, and financial management within the healthcare context. The program spans five semesters, including a dedicated semester for your Master's thesis, totaling 120 ECTS credits. You have two opportunities to start your studies each year, in January (winter intake) and July (summer intake). The program is open to all eligible applicants, with no specific admission restrictions beyond the academic and professional requirements.
The curriculum is divided into three phases: Foundation and Methods, Advanced Healthcare Management, and Capstone and Master’s phase. It includes a total of 120 ECTS credits, distributed across compulsory modules and the Master's thesis.
Graduates are prepared for leadership and staff roles in healthcare organizations, with opportunities up to top management levels. The program develops job-relevant skills in organizational and personnel management, evidence-based decision-making, and sector-specific expertise in health services research and public health.
The program is taught in German. Applicants must provide proof of German language skills at least at level B2. For international applicants with foreign qualifications, the HFH checks eligibility based on the assessment of the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB).
Additional fees include EUR 360 per module for the optional Pre-Semester (max EUR 1,080) and a one-time examination fee of EUR 990 for the Master's thesis. Proof of financial resources is required for visa and residence permit applications in Germany.
