Master Archaeology, Sciences for Archaeology

The Master's degree in Archaeology, Sciences for Archaeology at the University of Strasbourg offers three specializations: European Archaeology, Mediterranean, Oriental, and Egyptian Worlds Archaeology (AMMOE), and Architecture and Archaeology. This program integrates various archaeological disciplines, including Egyptology, Coptic studies, Near Eastern archaeology, Greco-Roman archaeology, Byzantine history and archaeology, European prehistory and protohistory, Aegean protohistory, and medieval archaeology. The curriculum also covers related ancient languages, history, geography, and geomorphology, leveraging resources from other University of Strasbourg faculties. Students must choose a chrono-cultural area within the Archaeology Department and are strongly advised to contact the relevant instructor before enrolling. The program is closely linked with the UMR 7044 "Archaeology and Ancient History: Mediterranean – Europe" (ArcHiMèdE) research unit and maintains strong ties with socio-professional stakeholders in archaeology.
