Tuition fees increase annually. Australian citizens or permanent residents studying onshore in New Zealand pay domestic fees. Those studying distance learning from outside New Zealand must pay international fees. You normally need a B+ average (at 300-level) in an appropriate undergraduate degree. The course of study and your performance will be considered, and relevant practical experience may also be taken into account.
For IELTS Academic, an overall score of 6.5 with no band below 6.0 is required. For TOEFL iBT (taken from Jan 2026), an overall score of 4.5 with a writing score of 4.5 is needed. Other tests like C1 Advanced and PTE Academic are also accepted.
