
This Master of Engineering (Electrical Systems) program is designed to meet the growing demand for skilled electrical engineers capable of integrating classic power systems with renewable energy sources. Developed by industry experts, the course equips you with the knowledge to design, operate, and manage modern power systems, including generation, transmission, distribution, automation, and protection. You will explore the integration of wind and solar energy, energy storage, and the application of artificial intelligence in smart grids. The curriculum emphasizes both theoretical understanding and practical application, culminating in a research-based project thesis that requires significant autonomy and critical evaluation.
The program comprises 13 units, covering a broad spectrum of Electrical Engineering topics. Units can be studied in a flexible order based on individual needs, pre-requisites, and availability. The curriculum includes core subjects, electives, and mandatory practical workshops.
Graduates will be prepared for roles in the modern power industry, equipped to address challenges in renewable energy integration, power system design, automation, and management.
A 'congruent field of practice' will be assessed against an approved list and required prior learning units. English proficiency can also be demonstrated by an English pass level in an Australian Senior Certificate of Education or equivalent as per the EIT Admissions Policy.

Applicants need an Australian Bachelor Degree (or international equivalent) in a congruent field of engineering practice. An Australian Bachelor Degree with Honours (or international equivalent) in a congruent field is also accepted.
Applicants must achieve an IELTS score of 6.0 overall, with no band less than 6.0, or an equivalent qualification.
The tuition fee for international students for 2026 is AUD $25,850.00 per year. Fees for 2027 will be available via a link on the program page.
The program has a duration of 24 months.
