The Master of Geomatics for Environmental Management (MGEM) is a 9-month, course-based master's program designed to equip students with the geospatial skills and landscape ecology knowledge needed to address critical environmental challenges. The program begins with a three-week intensive in August and concludes in April. Entry requirements
Undergraduate DegreeA relevant undergraduate degree (e.g., forestry, environmental science, computer science, geography) with a minimum overall average in the B+ range (76% at UBC). A basic statistics course is also required.
IELTS7.0 overall, with a minimum of 6.5 in Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening.
TOEFL iBT100 overall, with minimum scores of 23 in Reading, 24 in Writing, 22 in Speaking, and 23 in Listening.
Proof of completion of a basic statistics course and evidence of a working understanding of computer systems are also required. The GRE is not required. Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission as it is a competitive process.
