Entry requirements
Bachelor's degreeApplicants must have completed core mathematics courses equivalent to the first four semesters of a mathematics or related degree (e.g., computer science, physics, data science). Required subjects include Calculus I, II, III or Analysis; Algebra / Linear Algebra; Differential Equations; Probability; and Discrete Mathematics / Logic. A minimum overall grade average of 6 out of 10 (GPA ≥ 1.7, letter grade C-) is necessary, with a minimum grade of 5 out of 10 (GPA ≥ 1.3, letter grade C- or D+) in core mathematics subjects. For non-EU/EFTA applicants, the gap between completing their Bachelor's degree and application submission should not exceed five years. The Mathematics Study Programme Admission Committee evaluates course sufficiency and grades, and may conduct a remote interview.

Exemptions from English language tests are possible for native English speakers or those with a university degree conducted in English. Documents must be in English or Lithuanian, or accompanied by certified translations.

How to apply
1. Choose Your ProgrammeConsider if the program aligns with your interests, strengths, and career goals. You can apply to up to three programs.
2. Check Application DatesFor non-EU/EFTA countries, the deadline is May 1. For EU/EFTA citizens and non-EU/EFTA citizens with a 90-day visa-free period, the deadline is July 1. The academic year begins on September 1.
3. Verify Eligibility and Prepare DocumentsEnsure you meet general, program-specific, and language requirements. Prepare necessary documents, including your undergraduate diploma (and potentially translations if not in English/Lithuanian), transcripts, and any country-specific documents. For non-EU/EFTA applicants, the gap since your Bachelor's degree should not exceed five years.
4. Submit Application and Pay FeeCreate an account on the apply.vu.lt platform. Submit your application with all required documents before the deadline. Pay the 100 EUR application fee via Flywire. Applications are processed only after fee payment and submission.
5. Attend Interview (if required)The program admission committee may conduct a remote interview to assess your knowledge.
6. Confirm Acceptance and Pay TuitionYou will receive an acceptance or rejection notification within 30 days. Accept the offer within 7 working days. If accepted, pay the annual tuition fee within 15 calendar days to receive the final acceptance letter.
7. Arrange ArrivalOnce accepted and tuition is paid, you will receive information on visa/residence permits. Apply for dormitory accommodation via the application platform after receiving your final acceptance letter. Information regarding the start of studies will be provided.
