
The Master of Occupational Health and Safety Extension is designed to equip students with advanced knowledge and research skills to promote public safety and address complex workplace challenges. This program focuses on developing specialist technical expertise in occupational health and safety (OH&S). You will gain a deep understanding of risk management, workplace hazards, hygiene, safety systems, ergonomics, industrial epidemiology, toxicology, and relevant laws. The curriculum culminates in a research-based capstone project, enabling you to apply evidence-based practices in real-world scenarios. This degree offers a flexible delivery mode, combining online learning with intensive on-campus block sessions. The on-campus components utilize university resources, including specialized OH&S laboratories, for practical application of the subject matter. Upon completion, graduates are prepared to advance in roles dedicated to ensuring the highest level of safety in various professional settings.
The curriculum covers advanced topics in occupational health and safety, with a strong emphasis on research and practical application. Key areas of study include advanced WHS risk management, workplace hazards and hygiene, occupational health and safety systems, applied human factors and ergonomics, industrial epidemiology and toxicology, work health and safety law, and health research methods. The program concludes with a research-based capstone project.
Graduates of the Master of Occupational Health and Safety Extension are well-prepared for a variety of roles focused on promoting workplace safety and well-being. The program develops specialized knowledge applicable to diverse industries.

Session fees are for one session. Total course tuition fees are indicative and based on normal course length. Fees are subject to change annually and will be confirmed at the time of offer. Additional fees may apply, including Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) and a Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF).
