1. Evaluate Previous Education and Consult with ProgramUpon commencement of graduate studies, an advisory committee will evaluate your previous education. You will consult with the graduate program concerning the selection of a chair and members for your advisory committee.
2. Develop a Degree PlanIn consultation with your advisory committee, you will develop a degree plan outlining the courses to be applied toward your degree and formally establish your advisory committee.
3. Submit Degree PlanThe degree plan must be created, submitted, and approved through the online Document Processing Submission System (DPSS). This must be done prior to the deadline imposed by your college or school and approved by the Graduate and Professional School no later than 90 days before your Final Examination.
4. Fulfill Credit RequirementsComplete a minimum of 30 semester credit hours of approved courses and research for the thesis option. Coursework may be completed in one or a combination of academic units.
5. Complete Research Proposal and ThesisUndertake research as guided by your advisory committee and prepare your thesis. The thesis is a required component of the Master of Science program.
