Entry requirements
Bachelor's DegreeA bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or science field is required. A minimum GPA of 3.3 (on a 4.0 scale) is generally expected, as calculated by the Graduate School.

Fees
Tuition (international)The non-New York State resident tuition for a semester is $34,560.00 (which includes tuition, medical student activity fee, total comprehensive fee, medical student health insurance, and clinical skills fee). LivingThe estimated cost for medical student health insurance is $2,389.74 for Fall 2025 and $3,311.26 for Spring/Summer 2026. Please note that overall living costs are not detailed here but should be budgeted separately.

How to apply
1. Complete the Online ApplicationAccess the application portal via the Stony Brook University Graduate Admissions website. Fill out all required fields accurately.
2. Submit Academic Transcripts and Degree CertificatesUpload scanned copies of official transcripts and degree certificates from all previously attended colleges or universities. Original documents will be required for registration upon acceptance.
3. Provide English Proficiency ScoresEnsure your official TOEFL or IELTS scores are submitted electronically through the testing agency. Use University Code 2548 for TOEFL.
4. Submit Letters of RecommendationArrange for letters of recommendation to be submitted. These should ideally be submitted electronically through the application system.
