The Master of Science in Integrated Energy Geosciences (IEG) is a full-time, course-based master's program designed to provide advanced, cross-disciplinary training for students aiming for careers in the evolving energy sector. The program, which starts September 2025, replaces the Integrated Petroleum Geosciences (IPG) program. Students can specialize in one of four areas: petroleum, geothermal energy, geological carbon sequestration, or dissolved minerals. This program emphasizes teamwork and integrates knowledge from geology, geophysics, petrophysics, and reservoir engineering. You will complete a common set of core graduate courses and then specialize further with additional courses related to your chosen concentration, culminating in a 5.5-month capstone project. This prepares graduates for industries such as oil and gas, carbon capture and storage, geothermal energy, and exploration for helium and lithium.
