The Master of Science in Nutrition and Food Science with a Dietetic Internship program at the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) is designed to prepare students for careers in dietetics. This program combines graduate-level coursework in nutrition and food science with a supervised practice component, the Dietetic Internship (DI), which is a crucial step towards becoming a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). The program structure allows for both on-campus and online learning components, offering flexibility for students. The curriculum focuses on providing a comprehensive understanding of nutrition, food science, and their application in various settings, including clinical, community, and food service. The internship component provides hands-on experience and practical skills necessary for professional practice.
Graduates of the Dietetic Internship program are prepared for careers as Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) and can work in various settings.
International students will need to meet UCO's general admission requirements for graduate programs. This typically includes submitting transcripts, test scores, and potentially English proficiency scores if applicable.
Tuition and fees are charged per credit hour. Specific fees for the Dietetic Internship include a $40.00 application fee and a $2,000.00 one-time Dietetic internship fee. International students also pay a semester International Student Maintenance Fee ($200.00 for Spring/Fall, $80.00 for Summer) and are required to have student insurance.
