Specific Bachelor's degrees from the University of Copenhagen (Food Science with Quality and Technology or Food Engineer specialisation) or Technical University of Denmark (Food Analysis, Food Safety) may fulfil requirements directly. For other degrees, coursework must include Mathematics (7.5 ECTS), Statistics (7.5 ECTS), Chemistry (15 ECTS), Cell and/or molecular biology (7.5 ECTS), Food microbiology (7.5 ECTS), and Biochemistry (7.5 ECTS). An individual assessment may be made for equivalent qualifications.

Applicants with a legal right of admission must apply within 3 years of completing their Bachelor's degree. For applicants without a legal right of admission, a combination of coursework and prior study can be assessed, with a maximum of 30 ECTS from supplementary courses/projects.
