Master of Science (Professional)

This Master of Science (Professional) program is designed to advance your career in science by offering a choice between independent research or a focused industry project. You will deepen your understanding of natural environmental challenges and explore innovative solutions, utilizing the unique tropical reef and terrestrial ecosystems as learning environments. The course aims to enhance your practical, analytical, and communication skills, providing valuable experience through internships or research projects that can open doors to future career opportunities. Over two years of full-time study, you will complete advanced coursework before embarking on either an independent research project, which can serve as a pathway to a PhD, or an industry-based project. Graduates are equipped to critically evaluate global environmental issues and develop sustainable, comprehensive solutions. The program allows you to specialize in one of seven majors, with the option to select electives from complementary disciplines to broaden your expertise.

Curriculum

The Master of Science (Professional) is a two-year full-time program comprising advanced coursework and a significant research or industry project. Students can choose from seven majors, with the flexibility to select electives across disciplines. Majors offered include Aquaculture Science and Technology, Environmental Earth Science, Environmental Management, Fisheries Science and Management, Geology, and Tropical Biology and Conservation. Some majors are campus-specific.
