This Master's programme is designed to equip you with the advanced knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to excel as an Advanced Midwife Practitioner. You will explore key principles such as person-centred care, autonomy, empowerment, professional ethics, consultation, collaboration, and leadership. Upon successful completion, graduates will be eligible to apply for registration as a Registered Midwife Prescriber (RMP) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland. Depending on your prior qualifications and professional standing, you may be eligible for entry into the Master's, a Postgraduate Diploma, or a Postgraduate Certificate, with flexible pathways available. For those holding a Master's in Midwifery, a one-year Postgraduate Diploma or Certificate option is available. Entry requirements
Bachelor's degreeA minimum of a 2:1 honours degree in midwifery or a related discipline. In exceptional cases, extensive clinical experience and ongoing professional development may be considered.
IELTS (Academic or Indicator)6.5 overall with a minimum of 6.0 in each category.
Applicants must be registered as a Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) and provide an up-to-date registration certificate. A minimum of three years of post-registration clinical experience within the last five years is required, with at least one year full-time in the specific area of practice. A written commitment from your host organisation supporting your clinical practicum and nominating a mentor is mandatory, along with completed supporting documentation including a Site Declaration Form and Clinical Audit Tool.
