This project focuses on addressing the critical issue of maternal mortality and its impact on child health in Texas. Recognizing that maternal diet and health behaviors significantly contribute to pregnancy complications and long-term chronic diseases in children, this initiative aims to deepen our understanding of these factors. By leveraging the diverse population and dietary patterns within Texas, the project seeks to provide comprehensive insights into the nutritional landscape during pregnancy. A key development for this study is the planned establishment of a dedicated clinic in Fort Worth, a collaboration between the Institute for Healthier America (IHA) and Texas A&M AgriLife. This clinic, targeted for completion by 2028, will serve as a central hub for research and intervention, aiming to improve maternal and child health outcomes.
