The first year provides a foundational understanding of engineering, allowing you to explore different types of engineering before choosing a specialisation. After the first year, you can opt for one of three pathways: Automotive Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or continue with the core Mechanical Engineering pathway. Each module involves hands-on, project-based tasks using the CDIO (Conceive Design Implement Operate) framework, integrating professional skills throughout your learning. You will also develop knowledge in sustainability and digital technologies.
This degree is designed in collaboration with industry leaders to ensure you develop skills businesses need, preparing you for immediate employment and impact. Tuition fees cover everyday tuition, examination costs, and Students’ Union membership. They do not cover textbooks or other course materials. A fee equivalent to 20% of the full-time course fee is payable during an optional professional placement year. Scholarships are available, including the Millennium Point Scholarship, Cal Henderson Scholarship, and subject-specific scholarships.
The course curriculum follows internationally recognized standards established by the Engineering Council (AHEP4).
For IELTS Academic, you need an overall score of 6.0 with no band less than 5.5. Other English language proficiency test results may also be accepted.
