Vilnius University (VU) is inviting postdoctoral researchers to collaborate on applications for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA PF) in 2025. This prestigious EU program offers an excellent opportunity to develop your academic career and conduct research in an international setting within VU's dynamic research community. MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships are open to researchers who hold a doctoral degree and have no more than eight years of full-time equivalent research experience. A key requirement is adherence to the MSCA mobility rule, meaning you must not have spent more than 12 months in Lithuania in the three years preceding the call deadline. The fellowships can last from one to three years, with two options: European Fellowships for research within Europe, and Global Fellowships for research outside of Europe with a mandatory return phase.

Entry requirements

Candidates must also meet the MSCA mobility rule: in the three years prior to the call deadline, they must not have resided or carried out their main activity in Lithuania for more than twelve months. Candidates approved by 16 May 2025 can be selected for practical training on application preparation.

MSCA PF provides an allowance to cover living, family, research, training, and travel costs. Funding is also secured for the host organisation's indirect costs.
How to apply
1. Identify a Research Area and SupervisorExplore research opportunities at Vilnius University and identify potential supervisors or research groups aligned with your interests. Check the EURAXESS platform for hosting offers from VU researchers.
2. Confirm EligibilityEnsure you meet the MSCA PF eligibility criteria: hold a PhD, have 2-8 years of research experience, and comply with the mobility rule (max 12 months in Lithuania in the 3 years prior to the call deadline).
3. Prepare Application (Optional Training)If you are approved by 16 May 2025, you may have the opportunity to participate in practical training on preparing MSCA PF applications.
4. Collaborate on ProposalWork closely with your potential supervisor and Vilnius University to develop a strong research proposal that meets MSCA PF requirements.
5. Submit Joint ApplicationSubmit your joint application to the MSCA PF call by the deadline of 10 September 2025.
6. Consider ERA FellowshipsIf your proposal is eligible for the ERA Fellowships and not funded by MSCA PF due to budget, it will be automatically considered for this additional funding opportunity.
