Regular Admission (MS to PhD)Master's degree in engineering (or a related field on a case-by-case basis) from an accredited university with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.0.
Direct Admission (BS to PhD)Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university with a minimum CGPA of 3.5 out of 4.0. Applicants must also complete six credit hours of bridging courses (ESM 520, ESM 570, ESM 575, or approved 500/600-level MS courses) which do not count towards the degree or GPA.
Admission is competitive. Applicants must demonstrate strong alignment between their research interests and those of an AUS faculty member. Selection is based on academic history, research capabilities, and proficiency in relevant skills. For applicants with degrees obtained outside the UAE, an equivalency report from the UAE Ministry of Education, Higher Education Affairs Division, is required.
