Entry requirements
MSc, MA, LLM by ResearchLower second-class UK honours degree or equivalent.
MPhil or MPhil with intention to transfer to PhDFirst-class or upper second-class UK honours degree or equivalent.
PhD (direct entry)Master's degree in an appropriate discipline with research training and a research project. Exceptionally, a good honours degree with relevant postgraduate research or professional experience and published work may be considered.
IELTS6.5-7.0 overall, with a minimum of 6.0 in each component (reading, writing, listening, speaking), depending on the subject.
IELTS certificates are valid for 2 years. TOEFL qualifications are not accepted. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) minimum language requirements must also be met for visa purposes.
Fees
Tuition (international)International full time: £19,900 per year. International part time: £9,950 per year. Fees are for the first year only and will increase annually. International fees are subject to review based on inflation, university costs, government funding changes, and admissions statistics.
Tuition (home)Home (UK) full time: £5,338 per year. Home (UK) part time: £2,669 per year. Home fees are set by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).
LivingEstimated annual living costs range from £12,274 to £16,264 for a 38-week academic year, and £16,796 to £22,256 for a 52-week postgraduate course. This includes accommodation, food, household goods, course essentials, and social/leisure activities.
Accommodation costs in University halls are £135-£240 per week. Shared housing in Oxford averages £168 per week plus utilities. Weekly spending estimates: Telephone £11, Food £50, Household/Laundry £22, Course Essentials £5, Other (leisure, travel, etc.) £100. Total weekly spending: £323-£428.
