This Skill Set is designed for registered plumbers who want to expand their technical skills and knowledge, providing a pathway towards obtaining a plumbing licence. A licensed plumber requires a higher level of knowledge and experience than a registered plumber. To obtain a licence in any plumbing class, you must meet specific requirements, including completing the prescribed units for that licence. The units covered in this Skill Set are the common prerequisites for all plumbing licensing classes in Victoria and serve as the foundation for further specialisation in six other plumbing licensing skill sets. It's recommended to verify current licensing requirements with the Victorian Building Authority (VBA).
Upon successful completion of the nationally recognised units of competency, you will receive a Statement of Attainment.
All applicants must complete a Pre-training Review (PTR) and a Literacy and Numeracy assessment (LLN) to determine suitability. Meeting minimum entry requirements does not guarantee admission, as selection may also consider education, work, and other relevant experience, especially for courses with limited places. Special admission programs may be available for students from disadvantaged or underrepresented backgrounds.
Fees are indicative and subject to change based on individual circumstances and eligibility for government subsidies and concessions. The Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) covers non-academic costs and has a maximum annual charge.
