This Skill Set is designed for registered plumbers seeking to enhance their technical skills and knowledge in gasfitting work, providing a pathway towards obtaining a plumbing license. To achieve a plumbing license, additional knowledge and experience beyond basic registration are typically required. This course covers essential units that contribute to the specific licensing requirements for gasfitting work in Victoria. It's important for individuals pursuing licensing with the Victorian Building Authority (VBA) to verify the most current requirements directly with the VBA.
Upon successful completion of the nationally recognised units of competency, a Statement of Attainment will be issued.
All applicants must complete a Pre-training Review (PTR) and a Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (LLN) to determine suitability. Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee entry, as places are limited and further assessment of education, work, and relevant experience may be conducted for competitive applications. Special admission programs are available for individuals from disadvantaged or underrepresented backgrounds.
Fees are indicative and subject to change based on individual circumstances and eligibility for government subsidies. Materials fees may also apply. The SSAF covers non-academic costs.
