This Skill Set is designed for registered plumbers who want to expand their expertise and knowledge in mechanical services plumbing. It provides a pathway toward obtaining a plumbing license. Holding a plumbing license indicates a higher level of knowledge and experience than basic registration. To gain a license in a specific plumbing class, you must meet all the requirements for that class, including completing the necessary units. The unit in this course is part of the required units for mechanical services licensing in Victoria. It's important to check the latest licensing requirements directly with the Victorian Building Authority (VBA) if you are seeking licensure with them.
Upon successful completion of the nationally recognised units of competency, you will receive a Statement of Attainment.
All applicants must complete a Pre-training Review (PTR) and a Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment to determine suitability. Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee entry. If the course receives more applications than available places, your education, work, and other relevant experience will also be assessed. Special admission programs are available for individuals from disadvantaged or underrepresented backgrounds. You may also be able to receive credit for prior learning (RPL) based on your existing skills, work, and life experiences.
Fee types depend on eligibility for government subsidies and concessions. 'Free TAFE' is an option for eligible students. Contact the university for detailed eligibility criteria.
