Tanner's clinical judgment model serves as the foundation for developing students' clinical judgment and decision-making abilities. Basic care and comfort are addressed through concepts like nutrition, elimination, safety, mobility, and sensory perception. Physical assessment is a significant component of this course, with an overarching theme of health and wellness promotion. Students will gain an introduction to fundamental nursing skills, including medication administration, through both laboratory and clinical settings. Practical experience will be gained through clinical rotations in inpatient medical-surgical units.
