The Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST), established in 1929, is a leading technical university in Tehran, Iran. Originally founded as the Governmental Technical Institute, it evolved through several stages, including the Advanced Art College, before becoming the Iran Faculty of Science and Technology in 1972. In 1978, it was granted full university status by the Ministry of Sciences, marking the birth of IUST. The university comprises 13 faculties offering a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in engineering, mathematics, and physics. IUST holds the distinction of awarding Iran's first PhDs in Materials, Metallurgical, and Traffic Engineering in 1995.
