Sewing and Dressmaking – Intermediate

This intermediate sewing and dressmaking course is designed for individuals who have completed a beginner's course or possess foundational sewing knowledge. Over 10 weeks, you will enhance your skills by working on a project of your choice, focusing on adapting existing patterns and achieving professional garment finishes. The course is delivered by experienced dressmakers with expertise in various areas, including theatre costumes.

Curriculum

This 10-week course allows you to work on a project of your choice to develop your skills in cutting out and adapting patterns. You will learn various techniques to create professionally finished garments, including fitting. The course covers intermediate sewing skills such as sewing seams, inserting zips and buttonholes, interfacing, pressing, fitting, understanding fabrics, hand sewing, machining techniques, and adapting patterns.
