This BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Science degree explores how the human body responds to physical activity and aims to equip you with the knowledge to help individuals, including sports professionals, achieve their best performance. You will also learn about the role of exercise science in addressing societal health issues. The course covers core subjects like biomechanics, physiology, and psychology, with opportunities to specialise in areas such as nutrition, strength and conditioning, and performance analysis through optional modules. You will gain hands-on experience in specialist labs, analysing results and applying scientific principles.
The course provides a foundation in sport and exercise science over three years, with opportunities to specialise in later years. Learning involves theoretical study, practical skills development, and the use of IT for analysis and presentation. Teaching methods include lectures, seminars, tutorials, and laboratory classes. Assessment is primarily through a combination of coursework and examinations, with some modules assessed by coursework only.

Part-time study is possible. Clearing places may be available.
