This graduate certificate program, one of the first of its kind in Canada, prepares you to promote the overall well-being of individuals and groups in corporate and community settings. You will gain essential program management and communication skills to effectively lead wellness initiatives. The curriculum focuses on developing expertise in wellness coaching, designing, implementing, and evaluating health promotion strategies, and managing programs according to best practices. Key learning areas include assessing health risks, creating health and wellness plans for individual and organizational benefit, and utilizing various techniques to develop business cases for new wellness programs. Graduates will be equipped to bring a holistic, inclusive, and interprofessional approach to the field of workplace wellness and health promotion.
The program is delivered over two semesters.
Graduates are prepared for roles focused on assessing and promoting wellness needs for individuals, groups, organizations, and communities. You will develop skills in designing, implementing, and managing intervention strategies and wellness programs.
Field Placement Requirements (after admission, prior to placement): - Clear police check with vulnerable sector screening (issued within 6 months of placement start date). - Successful completion of a recognized CPR course (C Level or higher). - Successful completion of recognized First Aid training.
