Master of Science in Biostatistics

The University of Washington offers a Master of Science (MS) in Biostatistics with two program options: Capstone and Thesis. The MS Capstone is an 18-month, full-time program designed to prepare students for careers in industry, research, or academia as biostatisticians, research scientists, or data analysts. It includes specialization pathways and a collaborative research solution as the final project. The MS Thesis is a 24-36 month, full-time program focused on research, preparing students for doctoral degrees or research positions in biomedical, clinical, and laboratory settings. This option involves a research-based thesis and requires a final methodological academic paper and a theory exam.
