Doctorate of First Cycle in Medicine

This program prepares future physicians to be scientific, humanistic professionals, communicators, and collaborators within multidisciplinary teams. It aims to meet the evolving needs of society and the healthcare system. The program emphasizes developing medical skills to prevent, diagnose, and treat health problems in individuals and communities. Students will engage in theoretical learning, problem-based learning in small groups, simulated laboratory exercises, and clinical immersion. The curriculum spans four years, with a preparatory year often required for certain applicants, including those with a CEGEP diploma (Quebec college diploma), international students, or those whose prior university studies are not deemed equivalent. The Faculty encourages students to pursue a rich and versatile education, as the orientation of their studies (exact or human sciences) does not impact admission probability. All applicants must complete specific prerequisite courses before starting the program.
