Mathematics (MSc)
The Master of Science (MSc) in Mathematics at Leiden University is a two-year program designed to train independent researchers and equip students with advanced skills for careers in academia or industry. The program covers a broad spectrum of mathematics, from fundamental theories to applied research, including algebra, number theory, geometry, dynamical systems, functional analysis, probability, and mathematical statistics. Students can also engage with courses from the national Mastermath program and specialize in areas like data science. The curriculum offers flexibility, allowing students to tailor their studies to specific interests in either pure or applied mathematics. Graduates are prepared for PhD studies or analytical roles in sectors such as technology, finance, and business.
