This master's level course explores the intricate connections between human society and the marine environment. It examines how this relationship has evolved historically, its current state, and potential future changes. The course delves into humanity's diverse 'uses' of the sea, including emotional and philosophical aspects, and analyzes the conflicts and problems arising from these uses over time.
