Master's Degree Programme in Sustainable Cities and Communities
The Master's Degree Programme in Sustainable Cities and Communities is a joint international program offered by the EC2U European Alliance, which includes universities in Coimbra, Poitiers, Turku, Salamanca, Iasi, Jena, and Pavia. This 2-year program (120 ECTS) aims to equip students with expertise in environmental science, energy, urban planning, and natural resource management, aligning with the European Union's and United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. Students will develop critical analytical and problem-solving skills, preparing them for professional roles in a field with growing demand for experts.
The program's international nature is a core feature, with studies distributed across partner universities. The first semester is at the University of Coimbra, the second at the University of Turku, and the third at the University of Poitiers. The fourth semester can be completed at any of these three core universities or through an Erasmus mobility scheme at one of the other EC2U partner universities. This structure fosters a broad understanding of sustainable development challenges and solutions in diverse urban contexts.
