This course, 'Civil Transactions Law (1) - Sources of Obligation,' provides a comprehensive study of the voluntary (contract, unilateral act) and involuntary (harmful act, beneficial act, law) sources of obligation. Students will explore the definition of a contract, the role of the principle of autonomy of will in contracts, and various contract classifications. The curriculum covers the essential elements and effects of contracts, both for parties involved and third parties, as well as the consequences of breaching a contract and the pillars of contractual liability. Additionally, the course delves into unilateral acts, specifically examining the definition, rules, conditions, effects, and statute of limitations for public prize promises. It also defines liability arising from harmful acts, distinguishing it from contractual liability and exploring the options for combining or choosing between the two. Key components of liability from harmful acts, such as the injurious act, damage, and causal relationship, are studied. The course further examines liability for personal acts, the acts of others, and liability for things, covering both material and moral damages. The causal link between the harmful act and the damage is analyzed, alongside the study of legal action arising from harmful acts. Finally, the course considers beneficial acts (unjust enrichment) and law as involuntary sources of obligation.
