Anna University, established in 1978 and named after former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Late Dr.C.N.Annadurai, is a leading institution offering higher education in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, and Applied Sciences. It aims to meet the current and future needs of society by promoting research, disseminating knowledge, and fostering collaboration between academia and industry. The university was formed by integrating four prominent technical institutions in Chennai: College of Engineering (CEG), Alagappa College of Technology (ACT), Madras Institute of Technology (MIT), and School of Architecture & Planning (SAP). Anna University is recognized globally, ranking 470th in the QS World University Rankings 2027 and 11th among Indian institutions.
The university operates through several campuses, including the CEG Campus, MIT Campus, ACT Campus, and SAP Campus. It offers a wide array of programs with a significant number of UG and PG programs, and a large number of PhD students.
