Beijing Institute of Technology offers Master's level programs within the School of Computer Science and Technology, designed for international students. The Bachelor's degree program in International Economics and Trade at Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) is built upon previous majors in Industrial Foreign Trade and International Trade. Established in 1988 and 1996 respectively, these programs merged in 1999 to form the current International Economics and Trade major. The program is designed to meet national economic needs and social development, equipping students with a systematic understanding of economic principles and international trade theories. Graduates will be familiar with global trade rules, possess strong English language skills for foreign trade work, and develop an international perspective, effective communication abilities, and an innovative spirit. Over 2,000 students have graduated from this program, with alumni recognized for their professional quality. The major is part of BIT's first-class Applied Economics subject area, which includes Master's and Doctoral programs. The faculty comprises 31 teachers, including professors and associate professors, some of whom have received national recognition for their research and teaching achievements, contributing to over 350 published papers, including more than 120 SCI/SSCI indexed articles.
