Sport Science
The German Sport University Cologne, founded in 1947, is Germany's sole university dedicated exclusively to sport science. It offers a unique blend of high-level teaching, international research, and elite sports. With 19 institutes, five transfer centers, and four affiliated institutes, the university covers the entire spectrum of sport science, including health, performance, society, education, economics, history, and ethics.
Our vibrant campus community at Sportpark Müngersdorf is home to over 6,000 students from more than 85 countries and around 1,000 staff members. We provide innovative degree programs, exceptional infrastructure, and foster close collaborations with global partners, collectively shaping the future of sport in an interdisciplinary, international, and cutting-edge environment.
At German Sport University Cologne, we delve into sport in all its dimensions, grounded in scientific principles and a practical orientation. Beyond teacher training for all school types, we offer Bachelor's and Master's degrees, including consecutive and postgraduate options, as well as a PhD program.
