The University of Humanistic Studies (UH) offers a Bachelor's degree in Humanistic Studies, focusing on people and society through an interdisciplinary lens. Master Citizenship and Quality of Life

This Master's program in Citizenship and Quality of Life provides a robust theoretical foundation for understanding and reflecting on citizen behavior and development within a democratic society. It explores how citizens interact with each other and with public organizations, addressing contemporary issues such as diversity, sustainability, and livelihood security. The program emphasizes the critical examination of tensions and ethical dilemmas, highlighting the role of ethical professionals in navigating these complexities. Beyond theory, the program integrates practical experience through research conducted during an internship, culminating in a consultancy report for the host organization. This hands-on approach, combined with a master's thesis, equips students with the knowledge, insight, and skills necessary to contribute to the quality of societal life as academically trained professionals. Throughout the one-year, full-time program, students engage with core questions about the meaning of quality of life, democratic citizenship in pluralistic societies, the role of education in fostering citizenship, and the practice of ethical professionalism. Meaningful Artistic Research PhD

The Meaningful Artistic Research (MAR) PhD trajectory is a collaborative program between HKU University of the Arts Utrecht and the University of Humanistic Studies (UvH). This program positions artistic research as a fundamental method for generating new knowledge and fostering innovative approaches to societal challenges related to care, justice, and sustainability. It aims to train a new generation of artistic researchers who create knowledge through their artistic practice, develop transdisciplinary skills across art, academia, and society, and contribute to a vibrant knowledge community.
