MSc Artificial Intelligence and Data Science
The MSc Artificial Intelligence and Data Science is a conversion master's course designed for individuals seeking to transition into or advance their careers in the rapidly evolving fields of AI and data science. It offers a comprehensive curriculum covering the full breadth of AI, not just a single specialization. The program is delivered through intensive teaching, with in-person lectures and workshops typically scheduled one day a week, allowing students to balance their studies with other commitments. No prior programming experience is required, as the course begins with foundational Python coding.
Students will gain essential skills in programming, statistics, machine learning, big data, data visualization, computer vision, and the ethical and legal aspects of data usage. The course is taught in the state-of-the-art £4.5 million Centre of Excellence for Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Modelling (DAIM), equipped with advanced facilities including the Viper supercomputer. Students have the opportunity to undertake a research project tailored to their background and career interests, potentially collaborating with industry partners.
