Bachelor Degree in Architecture - IDEAS

The Bachelor Degree in Architecture (IDEAS) program at Warsaw University of Technology offers an integrated design approach focused on efficient architectural solutions. This four-year program is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and social competence required for professional practice in architecture and urban planning. The curriculum emphasizes innovative design methods, including BIM (Building Information Modelling), and integrates interdisciplinary subjects such as art, architectural theory, economics, and management. A key focus is placed on sustainable design principles, circular economy solutions, energy efficiency, and the harmonious integration of buildings within their surroundings, including aspects of daylighting and visual connection to the environment. The program prepares graduates for various roles, including designers, project managers, and consultants in the construction and real estate sectors. It covers the entire lifecycle of a building, from concept and construction to function, modernization, and end-of-life recycling. The teaching methodology is based on an 'atelier' system under the guidance of experienced academic staff. Students will engage in design projects, lectures, and seminars, with opportunities for specialization in their final years. The studies conclude with a diploma design thesis and an oral defense.
