Operations Research (OR) is a field that uses mathematical models to assist decision-makers. This course provides a general introduction to OR methods, helping you understand their applicability to various problems. It aims to build a strong foundation for further studies in OR by enabling you to apply specific methods to decision-making challenges. A key focus is on optimizing linear models through Linear Programming and integer linear programming, equipping you with valuable skills for mathematical modeling across many engineering disciplines.
The course content covers fundamental concepts and techniques in Operations Research, with a particular emphasis on linear and integer programming.
This course is offered as an elective or mandatory course within various Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) programs at DTU. It is also available as a general competence course for the Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Sustainable Energy.
