How to apply
1. Start Your ApplicationVisit the SGS online application system. You will receive an applicant ID and password via email after starting your application.
2. Identify Potential SupervisorResearch eligible faculty members on the School of Environment website and contact them to discuss your research interests and their availability to supervise. Identify chosen supervisors in your Letter of Intent.
3. Prepare Application DocumentsGather all required documents including transcripts, a Letter of Intent (with Optional Diversity Statement), a resume/CV, and arrange for two letters of recommendation.
4. Upload TranscriptsScan and upload legible copies of transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended. Ensure they are in PDF format and do not exceed 4MB per file. If not in English or French, provide a notarized translation.
5. Write Letter of Intent & Diversity StatementDraft a Letter of Intent (max 750 words) outlining your research proposal, academic interests, relevant experience, and career goals. Optionally, include a Diversity Statement (400-500 words) detailing your contributions to diversity. Submit these as a single file.
6. Submit Resume/CVProvide an up-to-date resume or Curriculum Vitae detailing your educational background, work experience, and any relevant achievements.
7. Arrange Letters of RecommendationList the names and email addresses of two academic referees in your online application. They will be contacted directly to submit their letters after you pay the application fee.
8. Proof of English Proficiency (If Required)If your prior education was not in English, submit official results from an approved English language proficiency test. Test scores must be no more than two years old at the application deadline.
