The Master's Degree Programme in European Languages, Cultures and Societies in Contact (EC2U Joint Master) is a two-year program designed to provide in-depth knowledge of the European linguistic, cultural, and social landscape. Taught across five partner universities within the European Campus of City-Universities (EC2U) Alliance, this program emphasizes advanced research methods and offers a unique opportunity to study in multiple European countries. Curriculum
The program is 120 ECTS in total, structured into mandatory and elective modules, culminating in a Master's thesis. A significant portion of your studies (60-90 ECTS) must be completed at one or more EC2U partner universities besides your home institution. You are required to study at least two different EC2U universities during the program, with a maximum of two semesters allowed at any single university.

Bachelor's degreeA nationally recognized first-cycle degree (minimum 180 ECTS or three years of full-time study) in a relevant field such as linguistics, applied language studies, European languages, philology, translation, culture, history, international relations, or other social sciences and humanities.
IELTS6.0 (minimum B2.2 level)
Excellent language skills in French and/or German (minimum B2.2 level) are also required. Language proficiency can be proven by official certificates or a degree obtained in a foreign language. No exceptions are made for language requirements. Motivation letter, CV, Bachelor's degree certificate, and transcript of records (translated to English if not originally in Finnish, Swedish, or English) are required. The application is evaluated based on academic records (50 points), language knowledge (20 points), and motivation letter/CV (30 points).
