PhD Position: Understanding Farmers' Motivations for Sustainability Transitions

This PhD position, offered by the University of Groningen's Environmental Psychology research group, focuses on understanding the motivations of farmers to engage in sustainability transitions within the agricultural sector. The research is part of the larger Re-Ge-NL project, aiming to accelerate the shift towards a regenerative, remunerative, and socially supported agricultural system in the Netherlands. You will investigate how farmers' personal and social identities influence their support for these transitions, and how these identities are, in turn, shaped by broader societal factors such as agricultural policies, public perceptions, and sustainability initiatives.
