Chemistry and Physics MSci (Hons)
This five-year Master of Science (MSci) in Chemistry and Physics (Hons) program provides a comprehensive education in both disciplines. The first two years focus on foundational concepts in organic, inorganic, and physical chemistry, alongside core physics topics such as mechanics, waves, electricity, and magnetism. You will also study introductory mathematics and develop essential computational and laboratory skills. In the initial years, you will study at least one additional subject alongside chemistry and physics. As you progress to the honours years (years 3-5), you will delve into more specialized areas. Chemistry specializations can include quantum theory, computational chemistry, energy materials, and sustainable chemical production. Physics studies will cover atomic, nuclear, and particle physics, condensed matter, electromagnetism, and quantum mechanics. The final year culminates in a substantial research project, allowing you to integrate your knowledge and skills in either chemistry, physics, or a combination of both.
