Modern Languages (French, Spanish, Chinese, Mi'kmaw)

Mount Saint Vincent University offers undergraduate programs in Modern Languages, with a focus on French, Spanish, Chinese (Mandarin), and Mi'kmaw. Peace and Conflict Studies

Peace and Conflict Studies is an interdisciplinary bachelor's program that delves into the origins of conflict and the principles of peace. You'll explore the connections between issues like poverty, violence, discrimination, war, justice, security, and human rights on personal, community, national, and global levels. The program examines various strategies and initiatives for peacemaking and conflict resolution, drawing perspectives from multiple academic fields. PhD in Educational Studies

The PhD in Educational Studies is a research-focused doctoral program offered through a collaborative partnership between Mount Saint Vincent University, Acadia University, and St. Francis Xavier University. Administered by the Inter-University Doctoral Administrative Committee (IDAC), students are admitted to one of the three universities and graduate from their "Home Institution of Record." The program views education as a complex, multi-contextual process understood through various disciplinary lenses. Doctoral students will engage in advanced educational research to contribute to academic discourse and policy, preparing them for leadership roles in education. Students can specialize in one or more of six interrelated themes: curriculum studies, educational foundations and leadership, inclusive education, lifelong learning, literacies, and the psychological aspects of education. Faculty research interests across all three institutions are available for review to help guide applicants' proposed study areas.

Philosophy

Mount Saint Vincent University offers a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Philosophy. Research Master of Arts

The Research Master of Arts degree is designed for students who wish to conduct in-depth scholarly research in education under the guidance of a faculty supervisor. A minimum of 5.0 units is required for the degree, which includes coursework and a thesis. The thesis component can range from 1.0 to 5.0 units, depending on the student's background and research focus.

Sociology & Anthropology
